Dear Calvary Family,

I pray each of you and your families are staying safe during this difficult time and are finding ways to continue to lead people to follow Jesus by taking their next step.

I desire, more than you know, to meet in person again. I miss you, and I miss seeing people gather together as a faith community. However, we will continue to proceed prayerfully and with the utmost caution. No doubt there will be some churches that open sooner than we do. However, we are making decisions that we feel is best for our church and our community.

The leadership team and I have been prayerfully trying to determine what the Calvary re-gathering process will look like. We do know that the next time we meet in church it will not look like it did on March 15, the last Sunday we met together.  Church will be different and it appears social distancing, of some form, will be with us for the foreseeable future.

Please continue to pray for us as we consider all the factors involved in coming together again in person as a church. This includes both the timing of each of our planned phases and the specific details that come with them. I will do my best to see that you have the information you need as we proceed through this process in a clear and timely fashion.

In the meantime, we will continue forward in our mission of Making Disciples who Make Disciples. Calvary has never closed, but we are definitely operating differently than ever before, I pray that we will take full advantage of the opportunities the Lord has given us now, and the possibilities of ministry in the days ahead.

As always, your pastoral staff and deacons are here for you. If you need anything, please call the church office at (217)824-2324. If you need special prayer or assistance during this time, please let us know. We will get through this together and we are excited for the day when our faith community gets to gather in person.

I love you and continue to pray for you during this time. It is my joy, privilege, and honor to be serving as your pastor!

Praying for you,

Pastor Steve
